LRC’s summer continues brilliantly with a fantastic June followed by a brilliant July. We have so many more word of mouth bookings and our online and offline advertising efforts are performing fantastically. In fact, our ongoing mailshots and SEO work, which I used to find quite routine is now much more interesting and I find myself wanting to get on and get the stuff done.

The positioning on some keyphrases has been noticed by others and several minicab companies now have approached me to find out how I do it and whether I would consider helping them.  I turned most down but I have started mentoring two, both of which helped me in my early days in the industry.  Technically they are the competition but there’s so much business out there and so many minicab operations, I don’t consider it a huge risk.  In fact for one of them, I am actively managing their SEO and Adwords advertising.

We have also moved our call operators to a different office which means we can take advantage of better facilities nearby and therefore improve the service provided to calling customers.

We make a habit of asking most of our customers where they found our number or website, and the feedback they provide is invaluable to optimising our presence on and off line.  I was chuffed to see a noticeable increase in word of mouth enquiries as I can only assume that this is because people are starting to recognise that we deliver service beyond that provided by a run-of-the-mill taxi company and actually passing our number on when they are asked to recommend a company for a taxi run.
