Memfy decision looms

Over the past few months, I have been in a kind of conundrum on Memfy.  I know it needs a facelift and some critical changes made before it can seriously be relaunched again.  I’m just wondering if I should make the leap and fund the next phase of development or leave it be.

Memfy desperately needs a new back-end.  The current one is simply inadequate for what the site needs, not from a scalability point of view but from a features perspective. Alongside the redevelopment a mobile app is necessary, so that’s an iApp and gApp then.

Its not a question of belief either.  I strongly believe in the Memfy concept, but am wondering whether the development of the website and a few apps in the next few months is enough.  Normally I’d be giving others the advice that if you believe it your business enough, then you need to take the leap.  From a finance point of view, I’m in, but from a time point of view, giving this my undivided attention is not something I can commit too right now.  But the thing I’m think is, does it need my full-time attention?

With about 70 active users per month and a little under 500 registered members, its not doing too badly on the membership side of things, considering next to nothing is being done to market the website.

If the functionality is there, and PR & marketing are put in place once the development side is up to scratch, then won’t it grow organically almost?  Then once the bigger regular user numbers come in, the full-time attention question almost justifies itself and I do nothing but grow Memfy all-day long.  Its a conundrum all right, and one I will be making a final decision on one way or the other by the end of this month.  Reading this post back to myself though, it kind of sounds like I’ve already made the decision, doesn’t it?
