Arav’s almost 2 1/2 now and it seems like he’s going to love his music like Mum & Dad.  He’s already been through several ‘favourite’ songs, all Bollywood as you’d expect if you know us.

About a year ago, his first favourite was Sheila Ki Jawani.  He loved it after seeing it played on TV, and I should say I can’t exactly blame him!

There was also Pocket Mein Rocket from Rocket Singh, which he still seems to like.  This is probably the one that I hate the most at the moment…..having heard it over and over so many times, and it wasn’t even a great song to start with!

In between, he loved dancing with Mumma and Papa to Where’s the Party Tonight?  We Sky+’ed it and he would ask for it randomly and demand that we got off our butts and danced with him.

After those three, and after being fed up with Pocket Mein Rocket so much, I decided I’d try and get him to listen to my favourite song of the moment, which was Ainvayi Ainvayi from Band Baaja Baaraat and boy did it work.

By this time, it was getting close to IIFA, which in 2011 was held in Toronto, Canada.  We recorded it on Sky+ as we were out that evening, but when watching it back, Arav loved Ranveer Singh’s performance on it.  Initially because of his dance to Ainvayi Ainvayi, but then the whole thing.

He started copying moves from it, is still asking for it almost daily, and for some strange reason wants play-kick the TV during it (don’t ask!).  From this IIFA showing came Arav’s next obsession – Dhinka Chika from Ready.  He’s only seen the ‘real’ video of this song once or twice but loves Ranveer’s version from IIFA.

At the moment, he’s got two new favourites which were introduced to him in the car in an attempt to increase his range of choices so we could listen to more than the same song again and again and again in the car.

Aahun Aahun from Love Aaj Kal and Marjaani Marjaani from Billu Barbar are these two.

Who know’s what will be next?
